Lately, it seems like there has been a lot of horrific news. From the our current political climate, mass shootings, or natural disasters, there has been a lot of overwhelming video and images filling the news channels and social media feeds. At times it can feel like we are surrounded by bad news. I’m not sure about you, but it can definitely way deeply on me, creating a negative impact that can be hard to escape.

 

But in times like this, it is important to focus on your own self care.
In an effort to provide some relief, we wanted to provide some ways to come up for fresh air and make your own wellness a priority:

 

  1. Remember the serenity prayer.  Try to control the things you can, let go of the things your can’t and have the wisdom to know the difference.
  2. Explore different types of Self Care. Maybe self care right now looks like extra ice cream, or skipping a workout.  Wellness is about taking care of the spirit as well as the body. Sometimes they look different.
  3. Breath and Cultivate Gratitude.  Sounds funny, but breathing can make a huge difference. We’re all feeling a bit stretched and it helps to remember that there is still lots that we can be thankful for.  Focus on the here and now. Stay engaged with positivity.
